You didn’t read it wrong. It’s truly Aris And Athena. Let me tell you the story about the two of them and how Athena’s apple dumplings told them they’re meant to be. I am a Greek mythology fan. I am so fascinated by the gods and goddesses and how they interacted with the mortals and dealt with their enemies. I have a friend whose Mom was a fan; so she named all of her kids after Greek mythology figures.
Athena was one of those kids. I think the name suited her because she’s smart, she’s pretty, and she’s really one brave woman. Athena didn’t know how to cook so her mother convinced her to go to a culinary school that would teach her how to be the “proper housewife”.
Athena wasn’t really opposed to it. She figured she could someday have a restaurant or a bakery if she pursued it so she did. She met Aris in school. Aris was short for Aristotle and his nickname wasn’t really Aris.
We just thought it suited him because of Athena. God and Goddess of War. Aris was her partner in one of their classroom cook outs.
The two of them had a huge disagreement about what to cook until they finally decided to do an apple dumpling dessert—simple yet sort of unique. They didn’t win the cook out, but that moment started their closeness. And now, they’re actually engaged and have their very own version of apple dumplings!
