Family gatherings are always a bit of an adventure for us.
We do potluck meals and things can get pretty crazy sometimes. Everyone usually tries to bring the last thing that they think the other families will. It makes dinner interesting, to say the least. This year, Uncle Steve’s family was in charge of the dessert along with my cousin Samantha’s. Well, off to the races they clearly went. Samantha brought a homemade pudding casserole that was pretty good, but I’m sure I’d had it before. Then, Uncle Steve’s wife uncovered this dish…”What is that?!” is all anyone could say about the funny looking cake.
He said that they had found a recipe for cherry and peach upside down cake and they just had to try it on us. Well, I wasn’t going to dive in first, but Grandpa loves anything with sugar in it so he didn’t hesitate for a second. He said it was good so people slowly started taking samples.
I followed and as soon as I bit into it… man it was great! I got the recipe and have made it several times since. So easy and delicious, you really have to try it!
