Sunny Snickerdoodles All The Way From Walt Disney World (Or Just Like Them, Anyway!)

I love a good Snickerdoodle cookie.  For it to be great, it needs to not have too much sugar, but have just enough cinnamon.  It also needs to be completely chewy, with not even a bit of crunch. That is exactly how they are served in Disney World.  Well, now you can make those Disney World cookies at home for those that you love. They are full of flavor, a great afternoon treat and are delicious with a cup of tea.

Give them a try and you will see what I am talking about. Check out what our friends over at Six Sister’s Stuff had to say about these:

“I love snickerdoodles and these were probably some of the best that I have ever had. I would say that they are as good as my mom’s (but don’t tell her that!). They were barely crunchy on the outside, but nice and soft on the inside.”

That sounds absolutely delightful!

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups Gold Medal flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

1 cup Land O’ Lakes butter (2 sticks), room temperature

2 cups Domino sugar

2 eggs

1/4 cup McArthur milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping:

3 tablespoons Domino sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs, milk and vanilla. Mix well. Add the wet ingredients in with the dry ingredients and mix until everything is incorporated.

In another small bowl, mix together cinnamon and sugar for the topping.

Form the dough into 1 inch balls and roll in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Place dough ball on a greased baking sheet and flatten (I used the bottom of a glass to lightly flatten my cookies).

Sprinkle the tops of the cookies with additional cinnamon/sugar mixture, then bake for 7-8 minutes. Do not overbake these.

Remove from oven and let cool on the cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes, then move to a wire rack to cool.

Quick Tip: If you forgot to take your butter out of the fridge, just grate it like cheese and it will turn room temperature.

Thanks again to Six Sister’s Stuff for this amazing recipe.
