These are an awesome afternoon snack. I also like to make them when I know we are going to have a house full of kids. With two children in middle school, they are always bringing all of their friends over to play. And with two of them, that’s double the crowd. I will usually double this recipe when I know we are going to have some of their friends over to visit. Nothing settles wild and crazy kids down more than serving them something they like to eat. At least it keeps them quite for a few minutes! Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at Spend With Pennies:
“This is so delicious and was definitely loved by all of us!”
This kid-friendly recipe is one that I love too. Even my husband, who doesn’t stray from the traditional too often, really enjoyed these!
Ingredients
1 loaf of frozen bread dough
16 slices of thin Hormel pepperoni
1½ cups shredded Sargento Italian cheese mix (more or less to taste)
1 tsp. italian seasoning
pinch of garlic powder
½ tablespoon parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon Land O’ Lakes melted butter
Instructions
Defrost bread dough per package directions (I did mine in the microwave under the “defrost fish” setting). Roll dough out into a 12×12 square.
Lay pepperoni out slightly overlapping to cover the dough. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
Top with shredded cheese. Roll up and brush the top with melted butter. Place on a pan and sprinkle with a pinch of Italian seasoning, garlic powder and parmesan cheese.
Place the pan on the stove (which is OFF) while you preheat the oven to 375 degrees (about 15 minutes). Bake 17-20 minutes or until golden. Serve warm.
