Chicken and dumplings is no doubt the ultimate comfort food. We eat it all winter long, at least a few times a month. It always gets gobbled right up by my three kids. They aren’t the most welcoming when it comes to new dishes. When we went to my brother’s house, he was making dinner. He had a crock pot going and I saw dumplings floating on the top so I assumed that’s what we were having.
Boy, was I wrong. When he scooped out our servings I was shocked to see meatballs instead of chicken. So were my kids. I was afraid we were going to leave hungry knowing how picky they can be.
That wasn’t the case at all! As soon as I talked them into tasting it, the rest was history. The recipe he used was just like this one off of All Recipes.
It was so good, we practically licked our bowls clean!
