It wasn’t until after our second child started eating grown up food did the drive thru become an expensive pit stop. When it was just a family of three, we could zip through there after a busy day and pick up dinner without breaking the bank.
Now that there are four of us, going through that line costs us a small fortune. That’s when I decided that I was going to have to learn how to make some of those meals at home.
I still want my kids to experience some of that yummy food…in moderation…without having to go broke. When I found these hamburgers on The Pioneer Woman, I knew that it was exactly what I was looking for.
I made them one Friday night instead of going out to eat, and nobody even complained or noticed that we missed our take out meal. I paired them with some french fries and fresh fruit and it was the perfect weekend dinner. Now I make these every couple of weeks and keep the extra cash for other fun experiences.
