The secret is out, folks! Grab a fork.
Are you in the mood for a down-on-the-farm country cake? Well, look no further because this Apple cake is straight from the south and tastes absolutely amazing.
I couldn’t believe how easy this Mississippi apple cake was to make. It didn’t take me long at all to toss the ingredients together, get them into a cake pan, and bake them. My entire house filled with the aroma of sweet apples and cake. Yum! I served each slice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
My kids were super excited to come home from school and have this apple cake as a snack. There is minimal sugar in the cake as the apples act as a natural sweetener so that was good! I don’t want to give the kiddos to much sugar directly before dinner.
Now, this cake recipe calls for 2 sticks of margarine and I know many of you do not like using this product. I hear ya! I don’t enjoy cooking with liquid plastic either. So, you can substitute with 2 sticks of butter. I did and the cake turned out fine. Enjoy!
