The last time we went to visit Silly Aunt Susan, she told us that she was making Sloppy Jessica’s for us to eat when we arrived. The kids asked us about 100 times what we were going to eat on the three hour car ride there, and me thinking Aunt Susan was just being silly kept telling them sloppy Joe’s. Everyone knows what sloppy Joe’s are so I figured that’s what to expect.
My aunt is a great cook so I wasn’t worried about it one bit, until we got there and she set these things down in front of us. She said she found the recipe on Serious Eats. It was a chili mac and cheese pizza on a bun….um what?
That sounded like three different things to me. Reluctantly, I took a bite of my sub. It was like a flavor explosion in my mouth. They were so good, and filling.
I took this recipe with me on the road trip home. Even the kiddos ate theirs! Another one for the books.
