Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always loved tuna fish. My siblings hated it but not me, I thought the stinky food was fantastic. my mother would make all the other kids’ peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and I’d get tuna fish. It always made me feel special. I came across this lovely dip in an old cookbook and thought I’d share it with all of you. It whips up super easily and tastes pretty dang good on crackers.
Serve this tuna dip chilled with veggies, pickle spears, or your favorite crackers. my husband likes pita chips with his.
P.S. Make sure you make enough of this to share with friends, family, and neighbors because they will all surely want a taste.
Ingredients
1 5-ounce can albacore tuna, drained well
1 8-ounce package of Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 teaspoon Heinz Worcestershire sauce
scant 1/2 teaspoon McCormick garlic powder
scant 1/2 teaspoon Morton kosher salt
dash or two of pepper sauce (like Tabasco)
paprika or smoked paprika for optional garnish
Instructions
Blend all ingredients together well using a stand mixer or hand mixer. Taste, and adjust seasonings to your liking. Be careful adding more liquid smoke, a little goes a long way! When ready to serve, try adding a light sprinkling of paprika over the top for decoration. Serve with crackers or pita chips.
