Every year from November 1st until December 24th, all the girls in my family gather together regularly to bake.
We like to stretch out the holiday season and that’s why we start on November 1st. It is a fun way to gather together, catch up, laugh, enjoy each other’s company, and make delicious treats for our neighbors, friends, teachers, and family. It has become a tradition that we all look forward to. We all have a Pinterest and continually pin things throughout the year that we will make when the holiday season comes.
This year, we have everything from chocolate mousse cake to Russian wedding cannonball cookies, to mini pecan pies, homemade whipped cream, and bite-sized carrot cakes. We also make lots of things that are more uncommon like baking with Pillsbury cinnamon roll dough to make different kinds of treats such as waffles and stuff like that.
It really is part of the fun to put together weird concoctions and laugh as we fail miserably at them. This year, we have found a really easy and safe treat to make and it turns out everyone that we’re gifting to LOVES them. They are brown butter cinnamon crinkle cookies. As they bake, they crinkle on their own which gives them the perfect texture.
