Quick Tip: Head the mashed potatoes up so they spread easily.
Why do people insist on calling this shepherd’s pie. Shepherd’s pie is made with lamb, this is made with ground beef, which id cottage pie also know as the poor mans shepherds pie.
I don’t anyone really cares all that much, Michael. Have a wonderful day!
I agree Jessica. I have always known Shepherds pie with ground beef, but makes no difference to me what it’s called.
.This dish is really called Cottage Pie in the UK ,Shepherds Pie is made from ground lamb ( hence the shepherd) but they both taste great .When I make the two pies I add carrots.
I agree with Michael and Tom. The recipe writers need to get their recipe names correct. Maybe some people don’t care, but there is a difference, and when posting a recipe they should call it by the right name! My hubs is english and this drives him nuts, LOL.
