What Are You Having For Dinner Tonight?
Nothing beats a hot, steamy bowl of soup on a cold day. I can remember my mother having soup ready for my siblings and I as we got off the school bus during those long, blustery Michigan winters. The aroma would hit you like a ton of bricks as you walked through the door. Such a great memory of mom’s cooking and being at home! I have carried on the tradition of soup-making in my household just like my mother taught me.
For my anniversary, which falls on Valentine’s Day, I made a delicious pot of soup for two. Can you guess the flavor? My husband and I enjoyed steamy bowls of roasted tomato and corn soup while dining by candlelight.
It was quite romantic if I do say so myself. The soup was “souper” easy to make and I served it with homemade white bread. Afterward, we went out for dessert at a local restaurant. Don’t you just love the simple things in life?
