In my house, the slow cooker was only really used for making soups or casseroles. It was just a given that when you saw the slow cooker, you knew you were likely having split pea soup or maybe a chicken and rice casserole that just cooked away all day. It was certainly delicious, but that is all I thought a slow cooker could be used for. Nowadays, slow cookers are used for so much more.
It is so exciting! I see dump cakes, ribs, wings, meat, lasagna, scalloped potatoes, and so many other elegant and fun foods being cooked inside a slow cooker. It has made me want to try all of them.
That is why, for this Super Bowl party coming up, I am planning to take out my slow cooker and making something fun. I wanted to make something the guys would love and was good finger food.
I did not want to make a casserole because that requires more ingredients, more paper plates and napkins and plastic ware. But instead, I wanted to make something that was more like finger food. And I found the ultimate recipe for that: buffalo ranch chicken wings. My husband is going to love these!
