I love strawberry cakes and pineapple cakes, but I never imagined loving the combination of those two. These two fruits are extra special in their own ways and combining them in one recipe wouldn’t have worked. But one bite changed my mind in an instant. Our friend, Erin, from Our Table of Seven via Recipe Lion has this to say about this recipe:
“We think we hit the jackpot of recipes using cake mix with this fruity cake that combines two of our favorite flavors. In Strawberry Pineapple cake you get the sweet taste of strawberries and the tropical taste of pineapple all in one easy cake recipe. Plus, to make things even more delicious, the cake is then topped with a cream cheese frosting that is absolutely divine. Top with shredded coconut and you’ll have yourself a cake that is just begging to be eaten. Light and fluffy, it’s a cake the family will love.”
I have been skeptical at first even though I know that in dessert world, anything is possible. But strawberry and pineapple? I couldn’t really imagine them in one dessert. But this dessert recipe erased all my doubts and I’m now a fan of this dessert fruit powerhouse duo. And oh. Never forget the added flavor of that yummy cream cheese frosting.
