All-In-One Beefy Hamburger Foil Packs!

My friends loves this recipe. In fact, they asked me for the link to the site so they can make them in their homes. I received a call from one of them and told me she modified it a bit to suit her husband’s taste, but it still tasted great! So yeah, this will work for you too! Our friends over at Mr. Food have this to say about this recipe:

“If you don’t like doing dishes, be sure to check out our Hamburger Meal in One recipe. Know why? It cooks in foil packets, it’s served in foil packets, and when it’s time for clean up, you just throw away the foil packets!”

When I came across this recipe, I immediately know that this is one of those that I will always make. Why? Because one, it’s easy to make. Two, it doesn’t need a lot of pots and pants or other utensils.

It’s cooked in foil! It means I don’t have to worry about not being able to do the dishes because I’m too busy to wash them.

Ingredients:

1 pound Tyson ground beef

1/2 cup Ritz crushed butter-flavored crackers

1/4 cup Heinz chili sauce

2 large potatoes, thinly sliced

1 large onion, thinly sliced

2 green or red bell peppers, cut into 1-inch chunks (or 1 of each)

1/2 teaspoon Morton salt

1/4 teaspoon McCormick black pepper

1 (10-1/2-ounce) can Campbell’s condensed cream of mushroom soup

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Coat four 12- x 18-inch pieces of aluminum foil with cooking spray.

In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, cracker crumbs, and chili sauce; mix well. Form into 8 patties; set aside.

Top each piece of foil with equal amount of potatoes, onion, and bell pepper. Sprinkle evenly with salt and pepper.

Place 2 patties over each pile of vegetables and top each with an equal amount of soup. Seal each foil packet and place on a large baking sheet.

Bake 30 to 40 minutes, or until beef is no longer pink and vegetables are tender.

Quick Tip: To cook these on the grill, preheat the grill to medium-high heat, place packets on grill rack, cover, and cook 15 to 20 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink.

Thanks again to Mr. Food for this amazing recipe.

We make foil packets when we are camping. We use the cocktail sausages instead of the ground beef. I have every thing already sliced and into zip lock bags before we go, except for the potatoes. We have the sausages, potatoes, carrots, onion, celery and cabbage with parsley, garlic salt and seasoned salt. Assemble at the camp site with some butter and about a 1/4 cup of water for steaming. Place right on the hot coals of the camp fire. Be sure to use heavy duty foil or double it up. So yummy!
