Who has small kids in their house, raise your hand? Who has the palette of a small kid themselves, raise your hand? I bet there is a lot of you out there with your hand in the air fitting into these categories. What is the same about each of these groups? The love for macaroni and cheese. The only kind of mac and cheese we ever had at my house either came out of a box or it was covered in processed cheese.
Both were satisfying, but now that I can cook, I want something real in the macaroni and cheese category. That’s when I found this recipe for bacon macaroni and cheese on Serious Eats. Holy smokes is all I can say.
It not only made my taste buds sweat, I couldn’t resist printing out the recipe and going shopping. I made the meal that very same night and it was just as good as it looked…if not better!
All of my kids and my husband enjoyed this as much as I did. It gave the simple flavors that the picky little ones like with the adult flavor (with the bacon) that my husband enjoys. We don’t have many one size fits all recipes, but this is one of them!
