As a stay-at-home parent, and the man of the house, it is usually my job to plan out the dinner menu, along with the lunch and breakfast menus. We are pretty big on ground beef at my house, just because it’s easy for me to make. My wife is a whiz in the kitchen. She can make a delicacy out of a can of tuna fish I swear. Anyways, I’m not so good. It’s just my job to make sure that we can eat whatever I have prepared.
One day, while the twins were napping, I was browsing the web for new recipes to surprise my hardworking wife with, and I found this one on All Recipes. I was so pumped to try it, I made it that very night.
My wife was pleasantly surprised in my new talent. Even the kids ate their portions up and I can normally only get them to eat meatballs. Now that I have this recipe in my back pocket, I won’t be afraid to pull it out whenever I’m at a loss for what to do with our thawing ground beef.

All this is, is Salisbury Steak. I make it pretty often. But, I sure wouldn’t want to eat any of it after seeing that nasty ass skillet that this person prepared it in. And I agree, the format sucks.

I’m a cooking dad, I need none traditional sides, my kids are weird, they eat weird stuff, therefore, green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, stuff like that don’t kick it. Any ideas?
Tell them to eat what you put on the table or go hungry. Works for my kids 🙂
