I love green bean casserole at any time of the year. Instead of just dumping a can of vegetables into a pan, it’s nice to surprise my family with this recipe once in a while. A dinner made with love and effort is surely one to enjoy! I know my family sure loves it! I do have one kid who hates mushrooms, though. Of course, if you don’t like mushrooms, you can simply leave them out.
They certainly add a different taste to this traditional recipe!
Ingredients
3 (14 1/2 oz.) cans Del Monte cut green beans, drained
2 cans regular Campbell’s cream of mushroom soup
1/2 tsp.pepper
1 tsp. Heinz soy sauce
1 cup milk
1 (8oz.) cont. fresh sliced mushrooms
1 1/2 cups French’s french fried onions
plus 1- 1 1/2 cups french fried onions for top
Instructions
In mixing bowl, mix well the soup, pepper, soy sauce and milk. Stir in mushrooms and 1 1/2 cups french fried onions.
Fold in green beans. Pour into 2 1/2 qt. casserole dish. Bake, uncovered, in 350-degree oven for 45 minutes to one hour or till hot and bubbly. Remove from oven, top with remaining onions and bake 5 minutes longer. Serve warm.

Quick Tip: Try using fresh green beans instead of canned.
Add shredded cheddar cheese, and use cheese French fried onion for a great twist.
