Make Or Break Maple Blondie Bars

I could eat the entire pan of these white maple brownies. They are seriously addicting! I think these are the perfect bars to take to a party or a potluck dinner. They are super fun to share with your friends and family. I will definitely be making this dessert again! You will not be disappointed! I love these fudgy treats. You wouldn’t think they’d be that way by looking at them but they are such a surprise!

They satisfy my cravings with ease, which is why this recipe is a keeper for me and my whole family.

 

Ingredients

1 c sifted Gold Medal flour

1/2 tsp Clabber Girl baking powder

1/8 tsp Arm & Hammer baking soda

1/8 tsp Morton salt

1/2 c Fisher walnuts chopped

1/3 c unsalted butter, melted

1 c brown sugar, packed

1 large Eggland’s Best egg, lightly beaten

1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 c white chocolate or vanilla baking chips

FROSTING

1/4 c maple syrup (any good kind)

1/4 c Land O Lakes unsalted butter

1/3 c Domino brown sugar, packed

1 pkg(8oz) Philadelphia cream cheese, softened

1/2 tsp McCormick vanilla extract or maple extract/flavoring if you prefer

Instructions

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add nuts, mix well, and set aside.
Preheat oven to 350° F.

Melt 1/3 cup butter, add 1 cup brown sugar, and stir well. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Gradually combine with flour mixture, mixing well. Fold in white chocolate or vanilla baking chips.
Pour into a 9-inch square pan and bake at 350° F for 20-25 minutes.

To make the Sauce:
Combine the syrup and butter, cook over low heat until butter is melted. Stir or gently whisk in brown sugar until dissolved and remove from heat.
Add in cream cheese and vanilla or maple extract whisk until smooth. Return to heat until it reaches desired consistency.
