My son and his family were coming home for a visit a few months ago. I was excited to put it mildly. They had a brand new baby that I hadn’t met yet, and I really was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for their arrival. It was a few days before they were supposed to be pulling in the driveway, and I had to do something to occupy my time. I started doing all the cleaning including washing the bed sheets, windows, carpets, whatever I could find to clean, I did it.
Then that was done, and I was back to biting my nails and pacing the floor. That’s when I thought of food. I was going to have to feed them! I remembered my son’s love for cheese steak sandwiches, so I went out in search of a recipe. I found this one on Group Recipes and saw that it mentioned slow cooker. How incredible.
I would be able to cook it and not miss a minute of time with my family or that little baby. The day they were coming, I tossed this together while I waited. As soon as it was in the pot, I went and sat by the window to wait and watch them pull in.
