My grandmother used to make the most beautiful sugar cream pie. It was almost too beautiful to eat. I was always in awe of how positively perfect it turned out for her and would just stare at it, looking at every smooth line and golden brown indentation. It was just such a lovely pie. And then, she would cut it and the slice would come out so smoothly. With a straight cut, it was the epitome of a perfect slice of pie.
I have never seen anything nicer. And then, the taste! Oh my, the taste! That was the very best pie I had ever tried in my life and looked forward to it every time I went to my grandma’s house.
Well, years have gone by and I never found my grandma’s recipe. Now I am a grandma and have my own grand kids coming over to visit me. I always wanted to be able to serve them the same sugar cream pie my grandma served me out of tradition, but did not have the recipe.
So what I did was search online and make pies until I found the perfect one. And guess what friends? I have found that sugar cream pie that resembles my grandmother’s the most. It is positively amazing.
