Whenever I am making a big dinner, my husband always requests mashed potatoes and gravy. He thinks that all turkey, chicken, and beef dinners should be served with mashed potatoes.
My kids love them too, so I don’t mind making them, but sometimes I just don’t have the time. After I found this recipe on Spend with Pennies, I realized that all I have is time.
If I can start these early, I don’t have to worry about squeezing in the peeling, chopping, boiling, mixing, and mashing that is usually associated with this side dish.
All I have to do is peel and chop and toss them in the crock pot. Then, I set the temperature to however much time I have, and when the main course is done, so are the potatoes.
They practically mash themselves. The best part is, there’s only one dish to clean! This is my new favorite way of making mashed potatoes. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the old method.
