The Irresistible Banoffee Tartlets That Ruined My Diet

I am not really that much of a weight conscious person. But recently, my friends have been rubbing off on me so I tried to join them in their different diet regimens. The only thing I couldn’t do at the moment was to go to the gym because I didn’t have the time, but I joined them in “eating healthy” lifestyle. I love banoffee pies.

My cousin Joana, whose boyfriend was a baker, always brought me banoffee pie whenever she was in town. She kept it in a little cooler as she drove so it would still be fresh and cold when she gave it to me.

Just recently, Joana passed by my house and delivered the ultimate temptation, but in a tartlet form. Oh my goodness. I wasn’t able to resist! The moment I smelled the tartlets and the chocolate goodness, I devoured two in one sitting.

I was deprived of sugar for a week because of my friends’ diets so it was truly easy to tempt me into sampling the delicious treat. I did tell my friends I cheated though. I called them right after Joana left.

Well, guess what, in an hour, my friends arrived and devoured the rest with me. They said that friends should always join each other in everything. So they were willing to ruin their diet because I ruined mine. All I could say was, “Oh really?”

Quick Tip: These can be assembled (through step #4), placed on a baking sheet and frozen. Once completely frozen, transfer to a freezer-safe ziploc bag and store for up to 2 months. Bake according to the direction in step #5, adding a couple more minutes to the baking time.
