Incredible Brussels Sprouts Gratin Bake – Even The Kids Will Eat It!

Do any of you have trouble getting your kids to eat their Brussels Sprouts? I know that my kids certainly turn their noses up at those “little cabbages”. LOL! Well, folks, make this yummy Brussels Spouts gratin casserole and those little ones will be running to the table. My kiddos seriously love this casserole and I can see why…it’s delicious! Even my husband likes it. I make this casserole as a wonderful side dish.

I didn’t melt an overabundance of cheese on the top of my casserole but don’t be fooled…it’s all over inside of the bake. So yummy!

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and butter a 2-quart baking dish. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Brussels sprouts and cook until tender, 8 to 10 minutes.

Drain the Brussels sprouts and coarsely chop. Transfer to the prepared baking dish and toss with the red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste, then spread out evenly. Pour the cream on top, sprinkle with the cheese and breadcrumbs and dot with the butter pieces.

Bake the gratin until bubbly and golden brown, about 15 minutes.

I make a Brussel Sprouts casserole…it is the same as the Green Bean Casserole But use Brussels Sprouts instead. I use frozen Sprouts..cut in half after boiling. So good

4C Breadcrumbs are a BRAND of breadcrumbs! Just use 1/2 cup of ANY breadcrumbs you want. If you notice, she and many others that put recipes online, sometimes use brand names. She mentions Kerrygold butter, which is excellent, but you can you any butter you want. Don’t change the measure of breadcrumbs!
