This grilled shrimp recipe is perfect for a fancy dinner or a casual dinner or even during lunch. It’s easy to make and everyone will appreciate the simplicity and elegance of the grilled shrimps. Everyone at the dinner table will surely fall in love with this. My favorite recipes are grilled shrimp and tempura. I love to eat shrimps as is or eat them with rice and with honey lemon butter dip.
Our friend over at My Baking Addiction has this to say about this recipe:
“When it comes to shrimp – whether they’re sauteed, fried, stuffed or grilled – they top my list of favorite foods.”
I feel the same about shrimps. I love them in anything. I love them most grilled or fried into perfection. Grilling and frying just brings out their best flavors, at least for me.
Ingredients
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup Bertolli olive oil
1/4 cup Hunt’s tomato sauce
2 tablespoons Heinz red wine vinegar
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
1/2 teaspoon Morton salt
freshly cracked McCormick pepper, to taste
1/4 teaspoon McCormick cayenne pepper
2 pounds fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients except the shrimp and whisk until combined. Add shrimp to the bowl, and stir until evenly coated. Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, stirring a couple of times.
Preheat grill for medium heat. Thread shrimp onto skewers, piercing once near the tail and once near the head. Discard leftover marinade
Lightly oil grill grate. Cook shrimp on preheated grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until cooked through and opaque.
