How do I love my soup? Let me count the ways. I love my soup really creamy. That melts-in-the-mouth texture of creamy soup always drives me crazy in a good way. I love croutons in my soup. I place a lot of them on top of my soup and watch them melt. I love my soup cheesy; the cheese gives another flavor to the soup that no other ingredient can give. I love my soup piping hot because cold soup is just weird.
And I love my soup with a little bit of my favorite vegetables. I want them in large chunks; definitely not pureed. I love that I can bite on to something while I am “drinking” the soup.
I put broccoli florets in my creamy soup all the time. Other than broccoli being my favorite vegetable, it’s kind of flavorless. You can add it to any of your dish and it will adapt the taste of the dish.
So when they’re added to an already rich soup, they just taste as rich and as creamy as the soup. I also love that they are crunchy, something that gives more edge to the soup, making it a bit more special.

Quick Tip: If you prefer a spicier soup, replace the nutmeg with cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
