Happy Husband Holy Cow Cake

When I was a little girl I used to spend a lot of time at my grandparent’s house. I absolutely loved it over there, especially spending time with my beloved Grandpa Joe. Now, grandpa loved watching baseball games, especially the Cubs. They were his team. Gosh, do I wish he would have been alive to see the cubs win the World Series. I’m sure he was cheering from heaven 🙂 Anyway, I remember the famous announcer, Harry Caray, always saying “Holy Cow!” when someone hit a homerun and those words stuck with me.

Years later, I come across a Holy cow cake and instantly remembered Harry Caray and spending summer afternoons with grandpa.

If you are into insanely sweet and heavy desserts, then this is the cake you must make. I’m telling you what, Mr. Hharry Caray would have definitely given a big old “Holy Cow” if he ever laid eyes on this delicious confection of chocolatey, caramelly, sugary goodness. It’s got everything in it, including Butterfinger pieces.

Yum! This si a not a cake for amateur dessert eaters. However, it isn’t very hard to make and anyone can do it so get your little hiney in the kitchen and make your own Holy Cow cake. You won’t be sorry 🙂

Quick Tip: For extra texture add a handful or two of butterscotch chips to the mix. Why not?

I have made this cake many times, but I don’t put the butterscotch topping on it, it makes the cake too sweet. But it is still really good. The first time I made this for my grandsons birthday, he said that it was his favorite cake, next to red velvet cake.

And to cut down on some of the sweetness, I only used about half a can of the sweetened condensed milk.
