When I enjoyed cornbread for the first time, it was of course at my Grandma’s house. I had never had it before and I was a bit unsure of eating corn flavored bread to be honest. It was so good. I ended eating half the pan myself. She always made it for Grandpa, but now she was making it for me too. I tried to make it myself at home, but it never seemed to turn out like hers. It was usually dry, and not very sweet, until I tried this recipe from Group Recipes. Tadaa! It was just what I was looking for.
Whenever I made this before, it seemed like I was dumping tons of sugar in the mix and it still wasn’t sweet enough. When I saw this recipe called for honey, it was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me. Of course, that’s how you get the sweetness level up.
Ever since trying this method, I have never gone back to anything else. No matter what I pair this with, it always gets eaten right up. In fact, most of the time I have to make a double batch! If your family loves cornbread, this is one that will keep them satisfied. Give it a try!
