Perhaps one of the most exciting parts of going to Grandma and Grandpa’s house was knowing that I was going to get a good meal. If your Grandpa was like mine, you know that he didn’t want all the extra vegetables, spices, and fancy ingredients put in his food. Even an onion would make him push away from his plate at the table. That is why my Grandma always made delicious meals like this, and of course, named them after Grandpa!
This casserole doesn’t need all the extra frills to taste really good. There are only five ingredients, and there’s a good chance you have all of this in your pantry and refrigerator already. There is enough flavor in the dish already that you don’t need to put in spices or other items that the picky eaters in your family aren’t going to eat.
Grandpa always asked for seconds and we usually had no problem cleaning this dish right out! Give it a try the next time your family comes to visit.
