One of my favorite things to do when I am out of things to do in the day is bake. I usually pick up any old recipe from my mom’s cookbook and get into the kitchen, making a mess and creating delicious and beautiful treats. Sometimes they turn out less than beautiful, but I assure you, they are always delicious and disappear from the kitchen in no time. Some of the best recipes I have made have been the oldest recipes my mom has carried around for years.
They are just not made anymore and people have no idea what they are which is what makes them cool. Recently, I was perusing Pinterest and found lots of great dessert ideas for those boring days at home with nothing to do. I searched high and low for the perfect recipe that incorporated all of my favorite flavors along with things my husband would like as well.
Let me tell you, it is not always easy finding something we both love, but we certainly make it work. Well, I came across this recipe which is just like my grandma’s so I decided to pull out her cookbook and get in the kitchen!
