I haven’t seen Dei for a long time. Dei was one of my interns when I was working for the real estate company. She was assigned under me since I was in charge of digital marketing back then. We grew a bit close and she became the younger sister I’ve never had. However, she found a job in another city, which was why after her internship with us, she has to transfer to that city. It has been three years since and the only communication we ever had was those birthday greetings on Facebook.
One time though, I bumped into her in the grocery store. I felt a bit embarrassed because I was dressed nothing like the boss she used to have. She simply laughed it off and asked me how I was.
She said she’s home for the weekend because her mom needed someone to look after her for a few days because her mom got the flu. She invited me to her house and since I had nothing to do, I went with her. I helped her cook lunch for her family.
While we were catching up, we’re devouring this berry tart she served me which tasted really creamy and really good. The fresh berries tasted so good with the creamy cheesy goodness. Dei actually wrapped the other one for me to take home. I didn’t say no of course!
