There’s one thing I know for sure about my grandma…she absolutely loves onions! Whenever we go out to eat for breakfast, she will order hashbrowns but she will tell the server, “Go ahead and put some hashbrowns in with my onions!” I crack up laughing every time.
When her birthday came around last year, I wanted to make her something special. There’s nothing that I can buy her that will impress her at this point but she loves homemade foods.
I found this recipe for onion casserole on Group Recipes and it sounded like it was written just for her. I made it for myself first to see how it would turn out…because like Grams, I love onions too! It was so yummy.
I couldn’t wait to surprise her with this for her special day. She was so happy and kept telling me how good it was. I can guess already what she’s going to want for her birthday next year.
