Onions have always been on my least favorite food list.
Do not ask me why, but I just cannot stand the crunch. It is funny because I can eat onions if they are grated or in the food processor, but not if I have to enjoy it in slices or big pieces. They are yucky to me and just gross me out instead of making me enjoy what I have in front of me. However, the only crunch of an onion I will enjoy are French fried onions. They are delicious and toasty and have the perfect crunch that is not similar to raw onion that I enjoy.
I seem to always be drawn to dishes with this (you know, green bean casserole at Thanksgiving coated in this) and am on the search for more. I even pile them high on my burgers. Here is a recipe for French fried onion casserole that is so amazing. It has chopped chicken and big bunches of broccoli chopped in there.
It is the perfect all in one casserole dish that serves the whole family and everyone will love. Do not get overworked over this casserole. It is a good one to enjoy on any night of the week!
