Whenever we are having company over for a fun game or movie night, I don’t hesitate to bust out the deep fryer now. I usually set it up in the basement to avoid the smell that tends to take over the house. These come together nice and fast though so I don’t have to be down there for long. When I walk up with these, I’m the hero of the group. They are always the first thing to go. Check out what they are saying about this recipe over at Food.com:
“They turned out great. Satisfies the fried mushroom craving quite nicely!”
Whenever you have a craving for something deep fried, this is the easiest recipe you will find.
Ingredients
8 -10 ounces whole white mushrooms
3⁄4 cup Gold Medal flour
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
Instructions
Wash the mushrooms and remove most of the stem.
Pat mushrooms dry with a paper towel.
Coat mushrooms with flour, lightly tap to remove excess flour.
Dip in eggs.
Coat with bread crumbs.
Set on a rack for a few minutes, so batter sets/dries.
Heat the oil in the deep fryer to 375 degrees. Pay close attention to grease while it heats. Cooking with oil at high heat levels can be dangerous!
Deep fry mushrooms in batches for approximately 3- 4 minutes or until golden brown.
