As soon as I turned sixteen years old and saw a Mardi Gras celebration on the television, I knew I just had to experience it for myself one day. Not just for the party, but for all the great food. I love to cook, and trying things from different regions around the country, and the world, is what is most interesting to me. They kept talking about traditional Louisianan foods.
They all looked so good, and you could tell that some people visited the area just to eat. For my graduation gift from college, my parents got me that trip. When I was there, I think I gained about 20 pounds trying all the different foods.
One of those that stood out was the red beans and rice. When I found this recipe on All Recipes for the same thing, I was in shock. I made it for my wife and she absolutely adored it.
We are now planning our second honeymoon back to good ol’ New Orleans. I can’t wait!
