The really good thing about wings is that they can be served as appetizers or as the main course. I usually serve them as appetizers to my visitors when they visit me at home. However, they become the instant main course whenever I bring them to picnics. They are just too good! This recipe gives our favorite wings a hot makeover that I’m sure will be a hit!
It’s one way to save money, isn’t it? When you can cook the same favorite restaurant dish in your home. Other than that, you can experiment and adjust the ingredients based on yours and your family’s preferences. I kind of decreased the amount of hot sauce for this recipe because I can’t take overly spicy food.
Ingredients
3 lb Tyson uncooked chicken wing sections
1/4 c Bertolli olive oil
1 stick Kerrygold butter
3/4 c Louisiana hot sauce
1 Tbsp Heinz white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp McCormick onion powder
1 tsp McCormick garlic powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp McCormick lemon pepper
1/2 tsp McCormick thyme
1/2 tsp McCormick paprika
blue cheese or ranch dressing, for dipping
Instructions
Rinse the wings and dry them off individually with a clean kitchen towel, or paper towels completely. (This is the trick to making the wings really good!).
In a big bowl toss the wings with about a quarter cup of olive oil so the wings are completely covered.
Add all the seasonings to the wings and toss until completely covered.
Lay the wings flat on a sprayed cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about 30 minutes. After about 30 minutes and the wings look cooked, but not crispy, turn the oven on broil and cook each side until nice and crispy. Watch the wings closely so they don’t burn.
In a small saucepan melt the stick of butter and whisk in enough hot sauce to your liking, add the vinegar and whisk. Add some salt and pepper if needed. Adjust to your taste. Put the wings back in a big, clean bowl and pour the sauce over them; toss. Put some extra sauce on the side. Dip in your favorite dressing like blue cheese or ranch.
