Whenever we go out to eat and there is an option for chicken cordon bleu, that’s what I’m ordering. Ever since having it at a weeding a few years ago, I can’t get enough of the stuff. I’ve tried buying the frozen version and cooking it at home but it never tastes anywhere close to how it’s supposed to. Because I am the master of casseroles, I just knew that there had to be a way to make the same taste in a baking pan.
When I found this recipe on Spend with Pennies, I proved once again that I was right! I couldn’t wait to make this for my family. I jotted down the ingredients list and picked up the supplies that week. That weekend, it just so happened that my in-laws were coming for a visit.
Perfect! I tossed all this together shortly before their arrival and we all sat down to a piping hot plate of it with a salad and bread sticks. It was a huge hit! All the flavor I wanted and none of the frozen taste I didn’t. This is a recipe that I will be holding near and dear that’s for certain!
