Chocolate Bon Bons Made From Grandma’s Cookbook

You will love these bon bons. They’re sweet, but not too sweet. And they’re bite size so they’re convenient to eat. You can just pop them into your mouth and enjoy the taste. They also make very good gifts. That kind of made me a bit emotional. I suddenly missed my grandmother. She used to make everything with passion and with love.

Her kitchen was her way of showing us how much she cared for us. Thank you for this recipe, granny; and for the memories that came with it.

Ingredients

2 pounds Domino Confectioner’s Sugar

1+2/3 cup Bob’s Red Mill sweetened flaked coconut

2 cups Kirkland chopped pecans

14 ounce can Borden sweetened condensed milk

½ cup Land O Lakes margarine or butter, melted

1 package Trader Joe’s chocolate almond bark, for coating

Chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except almond bark well with your hands or electric mixer.

Form bon bon dough into balls either with hands (for smaller ones) or cookie dough scoop (for great big gobby ones!). Place on cookie sheet and cover. Refrigerate for at least an hour.

Melt chocolate bark by heating in the microwave at 45-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and creamy. Dip bon bons into chocolate then roll them in the chocolate sprinkles and place on wax paper to harden.

Store in refrigerator until ready to eat or gift.
