After college, my best friend for over ten years decided that she was going to move across the country to start a new life. It was devastating to say the least. We always stayed in touch, but talking over the phone and in emails is never the same as seeing someone you love in person. When I was pregnant with my first child, I sent her an invitation to the baby shower, not expecting her to be able to come. In fact, she RSVP’d that she wouldn’t be able to make it .
I was sad, but it wasn’t going to ruin this very important day. As we were at the hall decorating, guess who walked in and surprised me?? I couldn’t stop the tears from flowing. I was so happy! We hugged, and cried, and laughed, until pretty soon, the guests started to arrive.
I invited her to sit with me at my table and we held hands through our entire meal. I didn’t want to let her go again. They served these amazing chicken croissant sandwiches, just like this recipe from Group Recipes. I know they were amazing, because with everything else going on, I wouldn’t have remembered the food if they weren’t!
