I love, love, love going to visit my parents. They are the greatest people on Earth. They are even better to my kids. If I got treated like they did when I was little…oh man. Anyways, they always are doing whatever they can to treat our kids to something special. It’s always a trip here, a toy there, going out to dinner, a small present. Whatever they can do to please them, that’s what they are doing. They know that my kids love fried chicken. I’m not sure how or why, but they do.
And they will only eat chicken legs. I don’t blame them for that, it’s what I ate when I was younger too. So, Mom and Dad would always pick up a huge container of fried chicken legs whenever we would go over there. I was grateful for the meal, but I wasn’t so grateful for the unhealthy option.
I quietly mention something to my mom about it one day and said we want the healthiest kids around. That’s when she started baking chicken legs at home…just like this recipe from Food.com. Now, it’s probably still no salad or bowl of fruit, but I feel much better feeding them this than I do any other form of the little legs.
