When my now husband and I first started dating, I wanted to really impress him.
He was a good catch and I didn’t want to lose him for not putting in the effort. So, I invited him over to my parent’s house where I was living for dinner. After he accepted, I started a bit of a panic because I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to make for him. I asked my mom what she would make, and she told me about the chicken divan that she made for my dad when they first met.
She said it worked for him, so it should work for my then boyfriend. It looked a lot like this recipe from Facebook. It was fairly easy to put together and I pulled it out of the oven as soon as he arrived. We sat down to eat and he couldn’t put his fork down. It must have worked because that boyfriend then is my husband now!
I still make this for him every once and a while, and he always remembers how I made it for him so many years ago. Someday, I might teach my daughter how to make it for the love of her life too!
