When I asked my mom for a slow cooker for a graduation gift, she gave me one of the strangest looks I had ever seen her make. She said, “Really? Not a laptop, or money, or anything else? A slow cooker?” I knew I was going to be living in the dorms for a year, and I didn’t want to always have to eat down in the school cafeteria. It’s good once in a while, but nothing beats a home cooked meal. Thank goodness when my mom made things in the crock pot growing up, I paid attention. I knew those skills would come in handy one day.
Luckily, I was paired up with a roommate who didn’t necessarily enjoy the cafe food either. So, when I pulled my crock pot out, her eyes lit right up. Oh the things we can do!
One of the dishes that we made over and over again was this Italian chicken. It was so simple, and the taste was amazing. It was just like this recipe from Julie’s Eats and Treats.
This one calls for noodles and we didn’t have that option, so we usually just ate ours with bread. It was so good, and so cheap!

Quick Tip: Line your slow cooker first for easy cleanup.
I couldn’t find any Liptons Italian Seasoning in any of 3 stores that i went to but I finally found Wish Bone Italian Seasoning in the salad dressing aisle of the 3rd store I went to so I am trying that. I also couldn’t find anything but Hahn’s cream cheese in an affordable range at the second store that i went to. I tasted it before I used it; it seems to be decent. I am trying that today 1/16/18. We will see how it works. It was a very fast and easy meal to get into my slow cooker. I will do the rest when I come home from work.
