There’s nothing “stuffy” about this recipe…or is there?
Baked mushrooms make the best appetizers for me, most especially shiitake or portobello mushrooms. They taste more flavorful than the other mushrooms, which is why they always taste good in any dish. I love them most when they are stuffed with cream and cheese. Whenever I encounter such an appetizer to a party, I am guilty of turning it into the main dish. I always eat a lot which is why I can’t eat any other food anymore because of it.
Last time I was able to encounter such an appetizer, I was not able to eat any, actually. It was a formal party at one of my project partners’ house. There was an appetizer table where every appetizer was placed.
Every time I glanced towards the appetizers table, the baked mushrooms would be gone. It kept happening all throughout the night. At the end of the party, my friend told me it was everyone’s favorite appetizer and it’s always easily gone.
To make up for it, she told me where she got it and said that I could do it at my own home. I made it once for our reunion and true enough, after just about a few minutes of serving, I had to bring out batch two.
