Whenever the holidays role around, the ladies in my family get together in a group chat and decide who is going to be responsible for what. We all enjoy cooking and we want to do our part, but it can get boring bringing the same dish year after year. We also have to make sure that we don’t bring too much of one food and not enough of another. This year, Aunt Sue said that she would take over the sweet potatoes because she found a new recipe on Group Recipes that she wanted to try out.
We all took our other assignments and went on with our day. The holiday meal came together and Aunt Sue set out this sweet potato casserole. Let me tell you, I’ve never seen sweet potatoes look so good.
Usually, I’m not a huge fan of this dish and most of the time I’ll pass right by it to save more room on my plate for something else. That was the furthest thing from the truth this year. I took a nice big helping and went back for seconds.
This was by far the best sweet potato recipe I have ever had. I was sure to get it from my Aunt before leaving and I told her that I would make them for the next family meal!
