Grandma’s Best Dessert Recipes, #6
This dessert brings back so many memories… No need to spend all your free time in the kitchen, to come up with a delicious dessert. It only takes a few minutes to prepare this old-fashioned apple crisp – and you’ll know it’s done, by the wonderful aromas lingering in your house!
I have shared this basically with the whole neighborhood already, and everyone has been just as excited about it as I am. Give it a try and let us know how it turned out for you!
Ingredients
6 medium size apples
1 1/2 tsp McCormick cinnamon
1 cup Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1 cup Domino sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) of Land O Lakes unsalted butter, room temperature
Ingredients
Preheat oven to 350 F. Spray an 8×8″ baking pan with cooking spray.
Peel, core and cut apples into bite size chunks.
Place the apples in the prepared pan. Sprinkle with 1/2 tsp cinnamon (adjust the amount to your taste).
In a separate bowl combine sugar, flour, and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Add butter to the sugar mixture and cut in with a fork until it resembles pea size crumbles.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture over top of the apples.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-60 minutes until the top is golden and the apples are soft.
Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Quick tip: Serve this right after it comes out of the oven to really appreciate the crispiness of the top layer.

I make a cake like this a lot. It has no fat other than the eggs. Very good.
Picture looks like a portion from a baking pan not muffin pan. I would like to bake in a 9×11 or 8 or 9 inch pan for a family of 6 with seconds. How long should it bake at 350′ ? Should I still chill before baking?
Thank you,, Joyce
