If you love beans you are going to be crazy over this Hobo bean casserole! There’s everything in here from green beans to red beans and every bean in between. Plus, the sauce in this recipe is to die for. Yummo! So, I rustled up the ingredients for this recipe, I had most of the beans in my pantry and set out to make this delightful hobo bean casserole.
I agree that these wonderful beans ar perfect for picnics but I am going to include them in my holiday dinner this year!
Ingredients
1/2 pound hamburger
1 onion, chopped
1 can pork and beans, with juice
1/3 cup Domino brown sugar
1/4 cup Heinz BBQ sauce
1/2 teaspoon McCormick chili powder
1 pinch Morton salt
1 pinch pepper
1/2 pound Hormel bacon, chopped
1 can Bush’s red kidney beans, drained
1 can large butter beans, drained
1 can green beans
1/2 can of lima beans
1/3 cup Domino white sugar
1/4 cup Heinz ketchup
1 teaspoon prepared French’s mustard
Instructions
Brown bacon in skillet; drain and remove.
Brown hamburger in skillet; drain.
Saute onion then remove hamburger from skillet and place in non-stick casserole dish.
Add pork and benas, brown sugar, barbecue sauce, chili powder, salt, pepper, kidney beans, sugar, butter beans, ketchup and mustard and stir.
Bake at 350 degrees F. for 1 hour.
