Traditionally, I have always made my beef stew in a slow cooker. It’s easy, but it takes a long time to cook. My brother called and was coming home from a long stay on the road early. We were all so excited to see him. I told him I would make him a nice home cooked meal and asked what he wanted. “A hearty beef stew!” Oh boy…he was going to be home in just a few hours, I didn’t know if I would have the time.
I did a quick search online for fast beef stews and this recipe came up on All Recipes. It said that it could be completed start to finish in two and a half hours so I figured I didn’t have any time to waste. I got to work right away combining the ingredients the way the instructions ordered.
They were right, it was done in just under three hours, including preparation time. My brother walked in the door just as I was pulling it out of the oven. He sat and ate up about half the pan all by himself! I think it’s fair to say, this was a success!
