The first time I ever really appreciated bacon, or ever really even had it, was when I was at my grandparent’s house. Grandpa and Grandma would make up a huge breakfast every Sunday. As part of the spread there would be a huge stack of bacon… a few pounds of it I’m sure. Grandpa usually took that job and he was always so patient with it, making sure that every strip was cooked perfectly and that each one was lying perfectly flat.
After a scrumptious breakfast, if we were still around, lunch time would hit and Grams would bust out the makings for BLT sandwiches. I think that’s the only reason why she wanted the bacon for breakfast…so she could have the leftovers for lunch.
They were really good sandwiches though! She used the best breads with lots of mayo…my mouth is watering just thinking about it. When I tried this recipe from All Recipes for BLT dip, I couldn’t believe how similar the flavor was. Your mouth will be watering after trying this too!
