I loved when it was my turn to spend the night at my grandma’s house.
There were eight of us grandkids, and we all had to rotate our sleepover nights. Grandma was a hard worker. In fact, when I was young, she was still putting in forty plus hours a week at our local factory. So, on a Friday night, even though she loved us all more than life itself, one rambunctious kid was plenty enough for her to handle.
That night we would sit in her bed with her and watch movies and eat ice cream. It was such a treat. Not to mention, a nice break from home. On Saturday mornings, she still got up early, because that was what she was used to.
I often woke up to the aroma of this amazing hamburger soup going in the crockpot. I knew when she was making that I was going to stay until dinner time. Not only did I love it, it was one of my grandpa’s favorite meals too. I found a recipe just like it on Facebook and now I make it at home on the weekends for my family.
It’s also the perfect meal to make when I know that I’m not going to feel like cooking after work. I just put it in the crockpot before I leave in the morning and it’s done when I get home.

Quick Tip: Top with shredded cheese and croutons.
I make this but I don’t use veg-all
I put potatoes, carrots, onion, and sometimes frozen mixed veg. I serve it over cooked noodles. Delish. Very forgiving. Add whatever veggies you like.
