This recipe is perfect for an afternoon tea with friends. You can just relax while nibbling on these little beauties and drinking freshly brewed coffee or tea. You will surely have a good conversation, and this shortbread will add to the fineness of the afternoon. These little cookies are wonderful for serving at tea parties, church gatherings, and family events. Everyone will be asking you for the recipe so come prepared to share it.

Ingredients
1/2 c Land O Lakes butter, softened
1/4 c & 2 tbsp Domino brown sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp McCormick poppy seeds
1 c Gold Medal flour
Instructions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Cream together the butter and sugar in a medium sized bowl.
Mix in the lemon juice.
Add the flour and poppy seeds, and blend together.
Spoon out into 1 inch balls on your lined baking sheet (make sure to place at least 2″ apart as they spread). Press very lightly with a fork, if you’d like a decorative pattern.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges start browning.
Allow to cool.
